Do you have a sanctuary? A place you visit or recall whenever you feel bored or down on your luck. Or a place you go when you want to break away from your routine. I do.
Over the course of my life, there have been several things that I have called my sanctuary.
At Junior High School, manga’s (comic from Japan) became my sanctuary. I could get myself occupied for hours reading manga, even skipping bath and pray. Manga’s give me a change to jump into the manga’s world and become someone else. That refreshed me because I was damn bored of my toneless life.
But in last year at JHS, I realize that my social life was deteriorating. So I tried to start using my time to hanging out with my friend. Still I can’t remove my manga’s from my life, but I tried to decreasing my time for reading manga’s.
I’ve got nice photos and memories at my time when I hanging out with my friends. But in the end I admit, since we’re started Senior High School, we’re choose different path so it was hard to gathered again.
I’ve found new friends at SHS, we’re having a really good time until we’re got a different class, then I became student council. The secretariat of student council became my sanctuary but only for one year, because right now I’m no longer a student council.
I have nothing for my sanctuary. I want to find it, soon.
Note : I’ve got inspired because of the “My Sanctuary” article, who’s made by Bima Setyo Wibowo in Reader’s Digest Indonesia. A few sentence in this post is from that article.
